At the summit of the border mountain Čantoryj*, there is a 29-meter-high lookout tower offering unique views not only over the Czech Republic and Poland, but also of Slovak mountains such as Malá Fatra and the Tatras.
Velká Čantoryje Mountain (995 m a.s.l.) is steeped in legend and, in local folklore, holds a significance similar to Radhošť in the Wallachia region. For centuries, the Silesian national army is said to sleep within the mountain. Inspired by the legend of the Sleeping Knights, the Czech-Polish Knight Trail was created.
The trail is 20 km long: 10 km on the Czech side and 10 km on the Polish side.
The Czech and Polish circuits overlap along a section that follows the border ridge between the Čantoryje summit and the tourist crossing near the mountain chalet.
At the top of Čantoryje , the lookout tower is accompanied by a refreshment cabin.
Below Čantoryje, at a place called Zakámen, where Evangelicals secretly gathered for worship during times of persecution. A memorial plaque here commemorates the work of Evangelical pastor Jiří Třanovský.
